I Await My Savior's Coming
original hymn

(2004) In truth, for those prepared the Second Coming will be a glorious day. I'd always wanted to pen a hymn about this. I wrote the lyrics quite quickly after many failed attempts, and found a wonderful melody in a Methodist hymnal. I changed the harmonies to fit my liking, and really enjoy the final product. An interesting side note is that the tune name of the melody (written over a century ago) is "Restoration." Fitting.
