Lyrics:
1. Come my little one and rest upon my knee
And I'll begin to tell you of the man from Galilee
When He was just a baby born was a bright new star
Wise men came to see Him even though the journey far
CHORUS: But there were those that didn't nor try to understand
This one was special for He'd save all of man
They would try to hurt Him and cause so much pain
Yet all He ever wanted was for all to live again
2. Hush my little one fear not the battle's won
To fulfill the law He was baptised when He came unto John
Once out of Jordan's waters soon apostles twelve He chose
This man would do miracles at His call the dead arose
CHORUS
3. While His closest slept in the quiet night-time chill
He would kneel unto our Father and for you His blood He'd spill
As a sacred sacrifice He drank from the bitter cup
One would then betray Him on a cross He was lifted up
For there were those that didn't nor try to understand
This one was special for He'd save all of man
No longer could they hurt Him they'd caused enough pain
The God of all creation did surely rise again (Alleluia)
4. Sleep my little one so softly on my knee
As I close this wondrous story that your faith might increase
Although you're just a baby you will one day understand
He'll love you forever through the prints in His hands

Story:
"Wondrous Story" (Winter 2007)
A continuation of the "Child of Mine" story, this is the first lullaby sung once we arrive on earth. And it is the greatest story ever told. Many thanks to Joe Olivas for the moving lyrics and the trust he gave to me in all of his poems to cut and paste where necessary! :) I hope you enjoy the recording from the album "Believe," sung by Amber and two of her best friends, Julie Kohler and Kari Dick. We used three separate voices on purpose to make the song more universal.
