Lyrics:
1. I know you cannot hear my voice as I sing this song
And that you will not notice if on the piano I play it wrong
But this song is a gift for you a message of simple words
That though you cannot hear my voice your voice is heard
CHORUS: Through your hands you speak to me/In your eyes I truly see
The voice that God has given you is not expressed through words
But I hear that beautiful voice when you speak to me throught your hands
2. When I hear a prayer that is humbly said I feel a soft spirit there
But I'm consumed by spiritual fire when I watch you sign your prayer
You show me just how much can be said without saying a single word
And I cry as I feel our Savior's love and know your prayer is heard
CHORUS
3. Someday the Christ our Lord will come and save us from sin and fear
And He'll take you in His healing hands and bless you and you will hear
And you and I will talk and pray giving thanks for how much we're blessed
And you my friend will know at last that you have passed this test
Hearing no evil a language so pure/Poetry in motion yes I can hear you
CHORUS

Story:
"Through Your Hands" (Winter 2000)
I was invited once to participate in a musical number at one of the only hearing-impaired branches in the Church. I played the piano while a group sang and another group signed the lyrics of the song. I was so impressed with the members of the branch, these saints that worshipped with so much more than words. It was an inspiring experience. I returned home from the meeting and wrote "Through Your Hands," top to bottom, lyrics and all, in about 30 minutes. It's turned out to be the song of mine that most people have called their favorite. My dream is to one day see "Through" performed with 'singers and signers.' That would be cool. Please note that this sheet music version is very open to interpretation; it will have to suffice until a longer, more written-out version becomes necessary.
