It's amazing how inspiring an empty chapel with a lone organ playing can be...this has always been one of my favorite hymns (I actually sang a solo of it on my mission in a crowded marketplace!), and I'm happy with this quick arrangement, written in about 30 minutes. I've always liked the simplicity of Sarah McLachlan's "Angel" and Vince Gill's "Go Rest High," and you can definitely hear their influences in this piece. Fall 2009: I have the distinct honor of playing the organ solo frequently while playing the organ in the St. George temple. Bach would dedicate each and every one of his compositions to God, and if no one else but Him hears me play this, it will be just fine. I want Kenneth Cope to sing the vocal solo!
