Lyrics:
1. Would I have believed each one of the wise
When they said He is born the Holy child
Or would I have questioned when the boy taught
In the halls of the temple where intellect fought
Would I have watched on whe to John He'd say
Suffer it now in the water He'd lay
Or would I have trembled at the test of the One
When the evil had asked if Thou be the Son
2. Would I have listened at the Sea Galilee
When He said come follow me
Or would I have cried when from each pore
Blood fell to the ground that I'd live once more
Would I have looked on and been there to hear
Into Thy hands whispered so dear
Or would I've accepted when each one came
To the tomb of the Lord saying He's risen again
CHORUS: With so many questions answers receive
Yet I know God's plan is for me to believe
Yet I one imperfect feel it hard to hide
My trust in God and the answers found inside
3. Belief and questions watching trembling
All part of the growth this one life brings
Listening crying looking to accept
The life I've been given as my loving test
Now knowing His purpose the answer I seek
Just like the weary the cold lonely meek
My God and my King I'll do as Thou wilt
hat I may calm my storm saying peace be still
CHORUS
Yes trust in God and the answers found inside

Story:
"Inside" (Fall 2007)
Working with lyricist Joe Olivas is such a joy! It's so easy to write music with great words already there...however, sometimes I have a tendency to cut and edit a bit too much, and I often feel guilty for "slashing" his great words to fit the tunes. So, with "Inside," or "Would I," as Joe would call it :), I tried to stay as true to the original poetry as I could. The result is a quicker, catchier, probably-not-perfect-for-sacrament-but-perfect-for-the-radio-or-an-album ditty that is probably my fave so far.
